Elecdeer Engine Water Coolant Temperature Sensor

heading_title

There are all kinds of sensors in the car. Today, I will briefly introduce the water temperature sensor in the car to friends. What is the function of the water temperature sensor in the car? In simple terms, we can know the current running state of the car, stop or move, or how long it takes to move, through the temperature of the engine water temperature. Let's take a look.

Introduction to Water Temperature Sensor: Function

Then the temperature of the engine cooling water can be obtained. The electronic control unit measures the temperature of the engine cooling water based on this change. The lower the temperature, the greater the resistance. Conversely, there is less resistance. Based on this change, the electronic control unit measures the temperature of the engine cooling water as a correction number for fuel injection and ignition timing.

Inside it is a semiconductor thermistor, the lower the temperature, the greater the resistance; on the contrary, the smaller the resistance. Based on this change, the electronic control unit measures the temperature of the engine cooling water as a correction number for fuel injection and ignition timing. The car water temperature sensor is installed on the water jacket of the engine cylinder or cylinder head and is in direct contact with the antifreeze fluid to measure the temperature of the engine antifreeze fluid. The temperature sensor used in the antifreeze thermometer is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) whose resistance decreases as the temperature increases, and the wires are connected to the electronic control unit. The other is the ground wire.

Introduction to Water Temperature Sensor: Malfunction

1. Poor cold start

When the water temperature sensor fails, the electronic control unit cannot obtain an accurate water temperature signal and cannot provide a suitable mixing ratio. If the mixture is too rich or too lean, it will affect the cold start.

2. The idle speed is too high

The ECU checks that the water temperature signal is inaccurate, and it has always been thought that the cold state affects the rich mixture of multi-fuel injection, which will affect the high idle speed.

3. The fan always turns or does not turn.

The electronic control unit detects that a poor water temperature signal affects the normal rotation or non-rotation of the fan.

4. The water temperature gauge indicates abnormality.

The meter detects that the water temperature signal is inaccurate, and the water temperature gauge shows abnormality.
